Festival Call Out for Cuisines and Culture
Here’s your chance to play a part in one of the Central Highlands’ biggest events of the year.
“But to deliver an event of this nature, we need our incredibly diverse and talented community to put up their hand and say ‘we want to be involved’.”
Proudly hosted by the Central Highlands Regional Council and Central Highlands Development Corporation with support from major sponsors, the festival is all about celebrating the many different cultures that contribute to the region’s prosperity and vibrancy.
“It’s really about sharing – sharing food, sharing art and culture – sharing common values,” Ms Senior says.
Ms Senior welcomes the opportunity to work with those interested in being involved to develop their ideas.
“We are very supportive of individuals and groups wanting to be involved and offer guidance where needed. Sometimes it’s just been a matter of someone saying, ‘look I’ve got this idea’ and things go from there. For us it’s about fostering the amazing resources we have in our community, its people, and their creativity and commitment.”
The festival itself continues to grow in size, from the inaugural event in 2005, which attracted 1,200 patrons to 7,000 in 2014. It is now the largest one day festival in the Central Highlands region.
